Open Settings from the sidebar user menu or press Cmd/Ctrl+,. Search settings by topic. Most changes preview immediately: Save settings retains them, and Cancel changes restores saved values. Returning to the workspace preserves the Assistant and conversation and prompts about unsaved changes.

Personal preferences

Desktop fonts must already be installed. An Assistant’s character color can affect its conversation theme; groups use the configured chat palette. Local terminal parameters use the separate Apply Shell settings action.

Customize the Assistant’s name and appearance

Open customization in the conversation’s Assistant panel to choose a built-in appearance, configure a character, select a Pet or upload an image. Available resources come from the deployment. Expression and activity previews are for design and do not change the Assistant’s actual execution state. Public names and appearances belong to the platform Assistant and are visible to its other users. Saving and uploading require workspace editing rights; other users may view the appearance. Saving updates the name and avatar without overwriting workflows, prompts or unpublished drafts.

Which changes affect other users?

The personal section of Edit profile is separate from shared Assistant configuration. Check editing rights and impact before changing shared models or capabilities. Advanced orchestration remains in Xpert Studio. See Assistant profile.

Connect your own Xpert service

Use the API, web and ChatKit URLs provided by your administrator. Remote services use HTTPS. Saving changed URLs or certificate policy rebuilds the connection and requires signing in again. Allow untrusted service certificates is for explicitly trusted private deployments and is off by default. Enabling it disables certificate identity verification for configured service hosts. Check addresses and deployment certificates first; this setting does not fix account or resource permissions. Connection diagnostics distinguish certificate problems from network failures. See the desktop user guide for URL formats and steps. Bosi encrypts saved sign-in credentials when operating-system secure storage is available. Passwords are not persisted; without secure storage, credentials remain in memory only.

Update the client

Supported installed stable builds show an update entry in the account area. You can also choose Check for updates from the application menu. After download, choose Install and restart or Later, saving current work before restarting. If the build does not support in-app updates, obtain an installer from the official download page. Reinstalling may retain local user data and sign-in state; use Sign out to clear the saved session. Bosi, the Xpert server and hosted ChatKit jointly provide the experience. Updating the desktop client does not upgrade the server, business plugins, published Assistants or ChatKit features.
